JACKSON TWP. – Several area restaurants are ready to serve those looking for a hot meal and some good company on Christmas day.

That includes Country Pride at the TA Travel Center, 4450 Portage St. NW in Jackson Township, which will open at 11 a.m. and offer an all-you-can-eat Christmas meal for $17.99. That includes dessert.

Erica Walker, a server at Country Pride, said holidays are some of the restaurant's busiest times of the year with customers being a mixture of local regulars and truck drivers passing through Stark County.

"We've had people come year after year," she said.

The travel center is off Interstate 77 exit at Portage Street.

Walker said the restaurant does not take reservations but most diners will not have to wait terribly long for a seat.

"We flip tables pretty darn quick. You'd definitely get a seat," she said.

The all-you-can-eat menu will include turkey, ham, green beans, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, salad and more.

"Honestly, it's the best meal around," Walker said.

Walker, who has worked for Country Pride for 10 years, said all servers work shortened holiday shifts.

"Ideally, you want to be home with your family but usually people compensate pretty well," Walker said.

A little further south on I-77, the Pilot Travel Center on Faircrest Street SW in Canton Township will be opened with fried foods and sandwiches on Christmas Day.
